E' uscito il 5 febbraio il nuovo album "Heligoland".
All’album partecipano Damon Albarn, Hope Sandoval, Martina Topley-Bird, Guy Garvey e Tunde Adebimpe. Horace Andy, collaboratore di vecchia data della band, fa il suo ritorno al fianco dei membri fondatori dei Massive Attack Robert Del Naja e Grant Marshall. Damon Albarn suona anche il basso su “Flat Of The Blade” e le tastiere su “Splitting The Atom”, mentre Adrian Utley dei Portishead sunoa la chitarra su “Saturday Come Slow”. La band ha inoltre collaborato con Tim Goldsworthy dei DFA su alcune tracce. La copertina é un disegno originale di Robert Del Naja.

Negli ultimi tre anni Robert Del Naja ha scritto e prodotto colonne sonore per film e documentari come ‘Trouble In The Water’, ’44 Inch Chest’, ‘In Prison My Whole Life’ e ‘Gomorra’, vincendo per quest’ultimo il David Di Donatello nella categoria “Best Song”.
Quest’anno i Massive Attack hanno inoltre vinto il premio “Outstanding Contribution to British Music Award” nell’ambito dei prestigiosi Ivor Novello Awards.
